Alessandro Cossu

Alessandro Cossu is a seasoned patent professional with extensive experience in intellectual property. Currently serving as a Partner and Senior Patent Consultant at BUGNION SpA since July 2017, Cossu specializes in drafting legal opinions, preparing grounds of opposition and appeals, and engaging in patent litigation across Italy and Germany. Prior to this role, Cossu was a Patent Examiner at the European Patent Office from February 2003 to June 2017, where responsibilities included examining European patent applications and leading oral procedures. Earlier experience includes positions as a Microwave Engineer at Corning O.T.I. and an RF Engineer at Omnitel, alongside initial research work in digital television broadcasting. Cossu's educational background includes a recent Industrial Property Course at Politecnico di Milano and a Master of Science in Electronics from Politecnico di Torino.
