Uma Purani

Uma Purani is an accomplished individual currently serving as an IT Automation Intern at St. Luke's University Health Network, where responsibilities include creating automated systems using UIPath to enhance the employee experience. As a Research Assistant at UMass Amherst Center for Knowledge Communication, Uma develops educational math content in multiple languages for K-5 students and manages front-end development of an ed-tech platform. Additionally, as a Software Developer at BUILD UMass, Uma has created an interactive calorie-tracking mobile application for over 25,000 students using React and APIs. Prior experience includes instructing a robotics course at iD Tech Camps, teaching German in the Parkland School District, and serving as a Robotics Coach for Lehigh Valley CORE. Uma is pursuing dual degrees in Informatics and Community Education and Social Change at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, building a solid educational foundation that complements practical experience.
