Kate Slater

National Director, College Success at BUILD

Kate Slater is the National Director of College Success at BUILD. Kate has dedicated their career to working with underrepresented students and helping them navigate the college process. Kate has previous experience working in higher education as an Assistant Dean of Student Affairs at Brandeis University and as an Associate Director and Manager of Programs at the Institute for Recruitment of Teachers. In their role at BUILD, Kate oversees the program's strategy for college success and provides advising and mentorship to students. Kate is passionate about making higher education accessible to all and ensuring that all students have the support they need to succeed.

Kate Slater's educational career began with a Bachelor of Arts from Skidmore College in English and Theater. Kate then went on to obtain a Master of Education from Northeastern University in Higher Education. Finally, they completed their doctorate at the University of New Hampshire in Educational Policy and Leadership.
