Most recently, Allison worked at Dovetail Impact Foundation (previously known as the David Weekley Family Foundation) as the foundation’s only Domestic Portfolio Director. In this role, she helped design and launch a refreshed domestic giving strategy and managed an active portfolio of more than sixty organizations with strategic consulting and $20M in grants across five sectors that included education, justice, livelihoods, health, and spiritual formation. Before Dovetail Impact, Allison was the Vice President of Development for IDEA Public Schools. She raised more than $40M to support IDEA Greater Houston’s successful launch and expansion. In addition to fundraising, she managed the region’s real estate strategy and site acquisition process, securing the first five campus sites for the region’s growth plan.
Prior to IDEA, Allison lived in Las Vegas, Nevada. While there, she led multiple efforts to help solve the growing opportunity gap, including serving as the Executive Director of Teach For America-Las Vegas, supporting the Clark County School District Superintendent as a Special Consulting, launching Opportunity 180, and serving as an elected member & Vice President of the Nevada State Board of Education.
When not working, Allison is at home with her three doodles, spending time with her family, or keeping her daily Peloton streak alive (four years and counting!). She earned her BS in Political Science from Texas Christian University and an MS in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington.
