Deniz Owens

Senior UX/UI Designer at BuildingMinds

Deniz Owens has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. They started their career in 2012 as an Industrial Product Designer at ARS YAPI, where they were responsible for planning retail stores and creating 2D and 3D designs. In 2015, Deniz worked as an Industrial Designer at Koleksiyon, participating in a furniture accessories design workshop. They also designed a unique storage box and obtained a patent for a plastics company called HI-Paş.

In 2016, Deniz joined Studio CG as an Industrial Designer, where they worked on interior design projects and collaborated with clients to produce finished projects. They utilized software such as Rhinoceros, V-Ray, and Adobe Photoshop for their designs and presentations.

Deniz ventured into freelance work in 2017, offering their services as a freelance designer until 2019. During this time, they gained experience in conceptualizing, managing, and leading project designs from start to finish. They worked with different scrum teams, took ownership of UI library and design system backlog, and contributed to sprint planning and strategy.

Since 2019, Deniz has been employed at BuildingMinds, initially as a UX/UI Designer and later promoted to Senior UX/UI Designer. Their responsibilities include leading and managing project designs, owning UI library and design system backlog, and contributing to sprint planning and strategy.

Deniz Owens completed a Bachelor's degree in Industrial and Product Design from Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts. This education lasted from 2010 to 2014. Additionally, in 2019, Deniz attended Ironhack Berlin for a period of one year, focusing on UX/UI Design. Deniz also obtained additional certifications, including a UX Certification from the Nielsen Norman Group in November 2020 and a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification from the Scrum Alliance in April 2020.
