Denis Burkov

Denis Burkov has a diverse work experience starting from 2014. Denis began their career as an Engineering Intern at Enersource Corporation in May 2014 and held the position until August 2015. In January 2014, they co-founded InstuGuide and worked as a Co-Founder until September 2015.

In September 2015, Denis joined the Centre for Management of Technology & Entrepreneurship as an Undergraduate Thesis Student and remained in that role until May 2016.

From November 2016 to October 2017, Denis worked at Jule, starting as a Business Development Engineer-in-Training. Denis then transitioned to the role of Business Development Manager from November 2017 to February 2018. Finally, they served as a Product Manager from February 2018 to July 2019.

In September 2018, Denis founded Unplug, a company that developed presence-sensing intelligent learning plugs. However, due to long-term pandemic-related lifestyle changes, the venture was shut down in March 2020.

In August 2019, Denis joined Burkov Consulting as a Principal and worked in that capacity until September 2021.

Currently, Denis Burkov is working at BuildOps. Denis started with the company in September 2021 as a Senior Product Manager I. Denis then progressed to the role of Senior Product Manager II from June 2022 to March 2023. Currently, they hold the position of Group Product Manager, starting from April 2023.

Denis Burkov's education history includes a variety of academic pursuits and certifications. Denis began their education at the University of Toronto, where they completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Engineering Science, spanning from 2011 to 2016. Following this, they pursued further education in the field of business by completing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management, which took place from 2019 to 2021. In 2018, Denis Burkov also obtained a certification in Product Management from General Assembly Canada.

In addition to their formal education, Denis Burkov has sought further professional development through certifications. Denis obtained a Data for Product Managers certification from Reforge in April 2022, and a Product Analytics Certificate from Product School in October 2021.

Denis Burkov's educational journey has also extended to online platforms. Denis is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree (equivalent) in Computer Science at the Open Source Society University, starting in 2020 with an expected completion date in 2022.
