Sam Smith is currently the Sr. Director of R&D at Built Brands, having taken on the role in 2025. Prior to this position, Sam served as an Application Scientist at Glanbia Nutritionals from 2017 to 2025. Sam's career also includes experience as a Quality Assurance Technologist and intern at Nestlé USA, as well as roles as a sensory lab technician and assistant manager at the Food Sensory Lab from 2009 to 2012. Sam earned both an undergraduate and a master's degree in Food Science from Brigham Young University and North Carolina State University, respectively, between 2009 and 2012.
