Thor J. Kooda

Thor J. Kooda has worked in the technology industry for over 20 years. Thor J. began their career in 2000 as a Senior Systems Administrator and Senior Network Administrator at Murphy McGinnis Media, Inc. where they designed, built, and managed national Dial-Up, DSL, and cable modem Internet Service Provider businesses and technical infrastructure for 3,000 nationwide customers, resulting in over $640k in yearly revenue. Thor J. also designed, built, and managed website hosting company infrastructure providing service for 5,000 customers, resulting in over $590k in yearly revenue. In 2007, Thor moved to American Consolidated Media as the Director of I.T. / Infrastructure, where they regularly presented technology direction to regional VP and C-level executive management. Thor J. also developed and accomplished the vision of consolidating the I.T. infrastructure. In 2014, Thor became the Director of Infrastructure at GateHouse Media, where they merged American Consolidated Media assets into GateHouse Media infrastructure and business architecture. Thor J. also championed usage of cloud infrastructure, designed a migration plan, and built out the new cloud architecture. In 2015, Thor moved to Bulk Reef Supply as the Director of Technology, where they built and implemented processes for providing security, reliability, and accountability throughout the company. Thor J. also designed and executed a comprehensive long term security roadmap and consolidated I.T. infrastructure. Currently, Thor is the CTO at Aperture Pet & Life.

Thor J. Kooda attended the University of Minnesota Duluth from 1995 to 1999, where they studied Computer Science. In 2015, they obtained a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification from the Scrum Alliance. In 2016, they obtained a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute. Finally, in 2017, they obtained a Six Sigma certification from the Aveta Business Institute.
