Jeff Helvey

Division Director, Solid Waste Services at Bunnell Lammons Engineering

Mr. Helvey is a senior project leader and client manager with over 24 years of professional geotechnical and solid waste engineering. He has been involved in siting, design and construction of facilities throughout the southeastern United States. He has coordinated services for owners, contractors, and subcontractors including field exploration, laboratory testing, and engineering analyses. Mr. Helvey has been involved in various stages of the siting, geotechnical analysis and construction quality assurance monitoring of municipal, industrial, CCR and construction-demolition landfills for over 300 successful projects.

Mr. Helvey directs the activities of 30 engineering technicians, associates, professional engineers, and hydrogeologists on various solid waste projects and works closely with clients to ensure projects meet both schedule and budgetary considerations. Mr. Helvey holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering (minor in Environmental Science and Policy) from Clemson University and is a licensed professional engineer in Alabama, Delaware, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wyoming. He is the former president of the South Carolina Upstate Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Mr. Helvey is a veteran of the United States Army and enjoys coaching both American football and soccer, playing soccer, and eating too much ice cream.
