Ettiene van Heerden

Ettiene Van Heerden has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Ettiene started their career as an Audit Clerk at KPMG South Africa, where they gained experience in financial statement audits for various industries. Ettiene then progressed to the position of Manager in Business Advisory Services, focusing on process optimization and internal control gap analysis for audit clients. Ettiene'sresponsibilities also included business development in the South African pharmaceutical industry.

After their time at KPMG, Ettiene joined AstraZeneca, where they held various finance roles. As the Area Finance Lead for the Middle East & Africa, they oversaw major transformation projects and implemented the AZ Group Finance Operating model across multiple markets. Ettiene also served as the Finance Director for South Africa, responsible for financial activities and managing a team of finance professionals. As a Senior Finance Business Partner, they worked closely with the CFO and business unit heads, providing financial analysis and supporting business growth in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Most recently, Ettiene joined Bunzl Canada as the Director of Finance. Ettiene brings their extensive finance and consulting experience to this role.

Ettiene Van Heerden began their education journey at the University of Johannesburg in 1996. Ettiene pursued a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree, with a focus on Accounting, Tax, Audit, and Financial Management. Ettiene successfully completed their studies at the university in 1999.

In addition to their formal education, Ettiene Van Heerden has also obtained various certifications throughout their career. In 2005, they became a Chartered Accountant after completing the necessary requirements set by SAICA CA(SA). Later, in 2019, they obtained the Chartered Professional Accountant designation from CPA Alberta.

Furthermore, Ettiene Van Heerden has expanded their knowledge and skills through online certifications. In November 2019, they completed a course on Digital Transformation from LinkedIn. In December 2019, they obtained certifications in Business Intelligence for Consultants, Financial Forecasting with Big Data, and Financial Modeling Foundations, all from LinkedIn as well. These additional certifications showcase their commitment to staying up-to-date with the latest industry practices and trends.
