Rick R.

Rick R. has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple decades. Rick began their career in 1987 in the US Navy, where they held various roles, including Chief Information Officer, Information Warfare Officer, Signals Intelligence Officer, and Information Systems Technician Senior Chief Petty Officer. In these positions, they managed multiple sites, networks, and systems, provided certification and accreditation for systems, and oversaw telecommunications and electronic warfare operations.

After leaving the Navy, Rick R. worked as a Lead Technologist, Senior Information Systems Security Officer, and Cloud Cyber Analyst at companies like Booz Allen Hamilton and Cask. Rick then joined the Drug Enforcement Administration as a Cybersecurity Unit Chief before transitioning to roles at the United States Department of Defense and the USDA as a Supervisor in IT governance. Most recently, they became the Chief Data Officer at the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

Rick R. has a Masters of Information Systems from the University of Phoenix, which they obtained from 2006 to 2008. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Information Technology from the same university between 2004 and 2006. Additionally, Rick holds an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree from the University of Maryland, which they completed from 1996 to 1998. In terms of certifications, Rick has obtained several, including the Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer from ISACA in December 2020, the Certified Information Security Manager® (CISM) from ISACA in 2018, and the CompTIA Security+ ce Certification from CompTIA in January 2014, among others. Rick has also earned several certifications related to Amazon Web Services (AWS), such as the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner and the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, both obtained in October 2020.
