Andrew Jones

Andrew Jones currently serves as the General Manager of Agriculture and Water at the Bureau of Meteorology, leading a 50-member team to enhance services for agriculture and water sector stakeholders. Previously, Andrew held the role of General Manager International Development, focusing on meteorological services to support Australia's interests in the Indo-Pacific region. Earlier experience includes serving as Director of Geoscience, Energy and Maritime at the Pacific Community-SPC, where Andrew managed diverse projects related to maritime governance and climate resilience. Additionally, Andrew worked as an Organisational Governance Expert with Adam Smith International in Mongolia, and spent 15 years at Geoscience Australia in various leadership roles, including International Development Director and Marine and Energy Systems Director. Andrew holds a Ph.D. in Geological and Earth Sciences from The University of Queensland.
