Bureau of Meteorology
Susana Torres is an experienced flood hydrologist currently working at the Bureau of Meteorology since July 2022, where responsibilities include configuring and validating hydrologic models and providing flood forecasting and warning services. Previously, Torres served as a Flood and Risk Management Officer at the Department for Environment and Water, contributing to flood risk assessments and managing flood data. Prior roles include working as a Hydrologist Support Officer at the Bureau of Meteorology and as a Hydrological Modeler in Colombia, with experience in hydraulic engineering and hydrological modeling. Academic qualifications include a Master's degree in Hydrology and Water Resources Management from Universidad de Alcalá and a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Universidad Católica de Colombia. Currently, Torres is pursuing a Diploma in Project Management.
