Christopher Martens is an experienced professional in the field of engineering and safety supervision, currently serving as Section Supervisor for the Best Available Safest Technology at the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement since March 2012. Martens has successfully led the design of operational frameworks that significantly improved processes, reducing cycle times from three years to one year. Previously, Martens held positions within the Bureau, including Engineer, where oversight of the trial Equipment Subject to BAST Program occurred, and as Workover Engineer Coordinator, providing guidance on policies and standardization for Gulf of Mexico basin engineers. Prior experience includes roles at SLB as Logistics Coordinator and Crew Lead / Field Engineer, managing logistics for well pad dispatches and leading cementing operations. Christopher Martens earned a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental and Biological Engineering from the University of Florida, following earlier studies at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
