Alan Rotenberg

Alan Rotenberg has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Alan currently serves as the Head of Software Development and Data Management at Burford Capital since September 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Partner at Lightbridge Partners, LLC starting from December 2021.

Alan also has a significant independent consulting experience, with their most recent consultancy being with Hartree Partners, LP as a Tech Lead / PM for Energy Trading and Risk Systems from April 2019 to the present. Alan was responsible for stabilizing mission critical systems, improving software, and establishing project management and support practices. Additionally, they led the Microsoft Excel Ecosystem Overhaul project for 8 months.

Continuing their independent consultancy work, Alan also served as a Team Lead at Point 72 Asset Management from January 2018 to May 2019. Alan was in charge of the server-side software for the firm's internal market research platform, significantly improving operational efficiency and establishing a technical vision and roadmap.

Before starting their consulting career, Alan gained experience in various roles at Millennium Management (2015-2017), Group One Trading, LP (2011-2015), HETCO (2008-2011), Bear Stearns (2006-2008), and Bridgewater Associates (2003-2006) in the fields of fixed income, applications development, quantitative development, technology, and more.

Alan Rotenberg received a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science and Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Mathematics (Economics minor) from the University of Pennsylvania, where they studied from 1999 to 2003.
