Ian Salter

Ian has worked at Burges Salmon for over 25 years and became a partner in 1999.

He is an expert in the field of nuclear regulation and international nuclear law and has advised extensively on commercial arrangements in the nuclear sector around the world. He is also a recognised expert in UK environmental law where he has acted in the low carbon sector for many years for clients such as the Carbon Trust.

Ian is a founding partner of the firm's environmental law team and leads the nuclear team, which comprises over 50 lawyers from around the firm.

Ian chairs the Nuclear Industry Association's Legal and Financial Affairs Working Group, and also acts as the UK representative on the board of the International Nuclear Law Association with whom he has been actively involved since 1999.

He is editor of 'The Burges Salmon Guide to Nuclear Law' (Second edition 2015).
