Sheila Chernys has extensive experience in environmental, health, and safety leadership roles. Sheila currently serves as the Head of Health, Safety, Security, Environment & Communities at Arctic Canadian Diamond Company Ltd., where they provide strategic leadership and direction for various areas, including health, safety, environment, security, and indigenous community engagement. Prior to this, Sheila worked at Suncor in various roles, including Regional Director, EHS, Regulatory & Integration, Director, Oil Sands EHS, Environment and Industrial Hygiene, Director, EHS, Oil Sands, Environment & Industrial Hygiene, Director, EHS IN SITU, and Environmental and Regulatory Affairs Manager. In these positions, they were responsible for providing leadership and support in environmental compliance, regulatory reporting, safety improvement, and budget management.

Sheila Chernys holds a Certificate in the Harvard Business School Leadership Program from Harvard Business School in 2018. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Engineering Science in Chemical Engineering from Western University and a Bachelor's degree in Biology/Biological Sciences from the University of Ottawa. Additionally, they have obtained a certification as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) from the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
