Livia Chan's work experience includes being a Digital Content Coordinator for Teach Better Team since August 2021, where they promote the team's mindset and supports the community. Prior to that, they worked for Burnaby School District - SD41, starting in 1998 as a Teacher and eventually transitioning to the roles of Head Teacher and District Learning Technologies Helping Teacher (Staff Development) from 2012 to 2018.

Livia Chan obtained a Master of Education (MEd) degree in Curriculum & Instruction and Language & Literacy from The University of British Columbia from 2001 to 2003. Additionally, they pursued a Professional Development Program, BA in Elementary Education and Teaching, Criminology (Major), and Psychology (Minor) at Simon Fraser University. Livia also holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Criminology and Psychology from Simon Fraser University.

Students The Burnaby School District supports and provides learning to 25,000 Kindergarten to Grade 12 (K-12) students and to more than 6,000 adult learners. Employees The Burnaby School District employs 4,000 dedicated staff who are committed to providing students with a wide variety of innovative, high-quality programs to ensure student achievement in areas that include academics, athletics, trades training, visual and performing arts, social responsibility and leadership.
