Sina Yetbarek is a dedicated professional with extensive experience in settlement services and community support. Currently serving as a Settlement Worker in Schools at Burnaby School District - SD41 since September 2022 and as Settlement Lead at Impact North Shore since August 2021, Sina has also worked as an Interpreter for the Provincial Health Services Authority since January 2016. Prior experience includes roles as a Crisis Line Volunteer with Battered Women's Support Services and as a Settlement Worker and Facilitator at Immigrant Services Society of BC. Sina's contributions to the community began as a Youth Ambassador for the Canadian Council for Refugees. Sina holds two Associate's degrees, one in Global Stewardship from Capilano University and another in International Relations and Diplomacy from Cavendish University Uganda.

During the summer months, our District provides students the opportunity to take various courses. Summer session is an opportunity for teachers, who choose to, to continue working during the summer months. Students The Burnaby School District supports and provides learning to 25,000 Kindergarten to Grade 12 (K-12) students and to more than 6,000 adult learners. Employees The Burnaby School District employs 4,000 dedicated staff who are committed to providing students with a wide variety of innovative, high-quality programs to ensure student achievement in areas that include academics, athletics, trades training, visual and performing arts, social responsibility and leadership.
