Coimbra Sirica

Coimbra has been with Burness for 25 years and leads the Latin America practice with a team that crisscrosses the region, organizing site visits in the Amazon, press events in the major cities, and regular direct contact with bellwether foreign and national journalists.

She leads the firm’s grant with the Ford Foundation to elevate the visibility of land rights of Indigenous Peoples as a conservation solution and serve Indigenous leaders and their organizations by helping them to connect their stories to the growing body of compelling research that supports their advocacy goals.

As a research communicator, she has arranged and staffed international press events on every continent but Antarctica. Coimbra speaks four languages (English, Spanish, French and Portuguese) and is conversant in Italian and Portuguese Creole.
