Emma Hurst

Curriculum Manager at Burnley College

Emma Hurst has extensive experience in the education sector. Emma began their career at Riverside College in 2003, where they served as a Programme Area Leader until 2009. Emma then joined Burnley College as a Curriculum Manager, and later became the Dean of University Studies until 2021. In April 2021, they joined Coleg Cambria as the Dean of HE and Access to HE/Assistant Principal.

Emma Hurst completed their Bachelor's degree in Childhood and Adolescent Studies from Liverpool John Moores University from 2000 to 2003. Emma then pursued a Post Graduate Certificate of Education in Education from The Manchester Metropolitan University from 2004 to 2006. In 2016, Emma enrolled at the University of Central Lancashire and earned a Master's degree in Professional Practice and Development with a focus on Social Work, which they completed in 2018. Currently, they are studying at The University of Bolton, working towards a Doctor of Education - EdD degree, which they started in 2020 and is expected to finish in 2025.
