Jacob Horning

Jacob Horning is a Mechanical Engineering Associate at Burns Engineering, Inc., since March 2025, focusing on system engineering related to signaling, communications, and train control. Previously, Jacob gained experience as a Mechanical Engineering Co-op at Bechtel Plant Machinery, Inc., from August 2022 to January 2024, where valuable skills in professional writing and supplier communication were developed. An internship with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation in the summer of 2022 provided hands-on construction engineering experience. Early employment as a cashier at Postal Connections, from November 2017 to January 2021, involved managing customer relations and resolving conflicts. Jacob holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, expected in December 2024, and graduated high school from Dallastown Area Senior High School in June 2020.
