Laura Harding McCann Edd

Laura Harding McCann, EdD, SPHR has an extensive work experience spanning over several decades. Laura Harding currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Talent at Burris Logistics since April 2021. Prior to this, they held various roles within the same company, including Director of Talent Management and Director of Team Member Relations.

In addition to their role at Burris Logistics, Laura also worked as an Adjunct Instructor at Wilmington University starting from January 2010. Laura Harding teaches courses on culture, succession, and leadership, and mentors doctoral students through their field experiences, portfolios, and dissertations.

Laura has also been actively involved in professional organizations. Laura Harding served as the Past President and Certification Coordinator at DelMarVa SHRM from January 2013 to December 2013, and as the Chapter President from January 2011 to December 2012. Additionally, they were a Board Member at Frederica Senior Center from 2011 to 2013.

Before their current roles, Laura held positions at Grotto Pizza, Inc. as the Director of Employee and Community Relations from April 1998 to December 2011, and as an Instructor at Delaware Technical & Community College from June 1994 to April 1998.

Lastly, Laura began their career in 1981 as a Developmental Disabilities Program Administrator with the State of Delaware, serving in that role until February 1992.

Throughout their career, Laura has demonstrated expertise in talent management, team member relations, leadership development, and instructional roles in academia. Laura Harding holds an EdD degree and is certified as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.

Laura Harding obtained their Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree in Innovation and Leadership from Wilmington University, graduating in 2012. Prior to their doctoral studies, they earned a Masters degree in Human Resources from Wilmington University, completing their studies in 1988. Additionally, they hold a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education & Music Therapy from Shenandoah University, which they received in 1979.

In addition to their formal education, Laura has obtained several certifications. Laura Harding became a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR®) certified by the HR Certification Institute in 2007. Laura Harding further expanded their knowledge and expertise by acquiring certifications in various areas. These include Hogan Assessment Certification from Hogan Assessment Systems in 2015, MBTI Certification from The Myers & Briggs Foundation in 2015, and EQ-i 2.0 and EQ-i 360 Certification from Multi-Health Systems Inc. (MHS) in 2016. Furthermore, Laura obtained certifications such as MBTI Master Practitioner from the Center for Applications of Psychological Type, Inc. in 2017 and Strong Interest Inventory from GS Consultants, Inc. in 2018.
