Ian Sands

Ian Sands is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in product design and technology. As the Founder and CEO of Pilot Lab since January 2014, Ian leads a collaborative team focused on impactful design from locations in Seattle and London. Additionally, Ian serves on the Board of Trustees at The Bush School, including time as Chair of the Innovation Committee. Prior to these roles, Ian co-founded and managed Intentional Futures, driving innovative design solutions for notable clients such as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Ian's previous tenure at Microsoft included positions such as Sr. Director of Envisioning, where strategic vision and emerging technology solutions were developed, and founding roles in Office Labs and the Industry Innovations Group. Ian's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design from ArtCenter College of Design and studies at the University of California, Davis.
