Derick Hess

Derick Hess has extensive work experience in software engineering and computer science. Derick is currently working as a Senior Backend Software Engineer at Bushel since June 2022. Prior to that, they were employed at Sandia National Laboratories as an R&D S&E in Computer Science from October 2021 to April 2022. Derick also worked at ECS as a Senior Software Engineer from April 2021 to October 2021. Before that, they served as a Sr Software Engineer at SAIC from 2019 to April 2021. Derick's earlier experience includes working at IRIS/PASSCAL, where they held the roles of Software Group Supervisor/Senior Staff Scientist from August 2018 to June 2019 and Software Engineer from August 2010 to July 2018. In these roles, they were involved in developing software, web services, and data formats for seismic data, as well as providing field support for seismic experiments and overseeing students in the lab.

Derick Hess obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, which lasted from 2004 to 2009. Currently, Derick is pursuing a Master of Science degree in Computer Science at the Georgia Institute of Technology, expected to be completed between 2021 and 2023.
