From 2017 to present, they have served as the Vice President of Programs at Business Impact NW, a non-profit organization focused on promoting economic development in marginalized communities through offering capital access, training, and support to small businesses.

In their previous role as the Director of the Washington Women's Business Center at Business Impact NW from 2017 to 2022, Susan provided guidance, coaching, and technical assistance to aspiring and existing entrepreneurs. Susan conducted training sessions on topics such as business management, marketing, finance, and business planning.

Prior to joining Business Impact NW, Susan founded and led Innovative Beauty Concepts, a start-up in the beauty industry. As the President/CEO/Founder from 2004 to 2016, they oversaw all aspects of the business, from product development and manufacturing to sales forecasting and human resources.

Susan has also worked in the education sector. At ITT Technical Institute, they served as the Dean/Registrar from 2015 to 2016, where they provided leadership and oversight for the Academic Affairs Department. Susan developed and implemented strategies to improve student engagement and retention.

Additionally, Susan has experience as an Online Faculty member at the University of Phoenix from 2009 to 2012, where they taught courses on international business, focusing on the impact of globalization, technology, and cultural diversity.

Earlier in their career, Susan worked as the General Manager at American International Industries from 2002 to 2004. In this role, they successfully resolved a legal challenge to a patented product and implemented procedures to improve order fulfillment and customer service.
