Nicola Burton has over 16 years of work experience. Nicola began their career in 2005 as a Performance Manager at Working Links, where they worked until 2011. In 2011, they joined Business in the Community as an Enterprise Programmes Manager. Over the years, they held various roles within the company, including Operations Development Manager, Operations Manager North, Head of Operations - Employment, and currently serves as the Operations Director. In 2012, they also worked at Leicester for Business as a Partner agency for the consortium.

Nicola Burton obtained a BSc (HONS) degree in Health with Community Studies from The University of Huddersfield between 1998 and 2001. Prior to that, they completed their A levels at high pavement 6th form college from 1995 to 1997. Nicola had their foundational education at Frank Wheldon Comprehensive School, where they completed their GCSE's from 1990 to 1995.
