Maria Slade

Maria Slade is an experienced journalist and author with a robust background in the media industry. Currently serving as the Property Editor at BusinessDesk NZ since May 2024, Maria has also authored "Buyer Beware: A New Zealand Home Buyer's Guide" for Penguin Random House, beginning in January 2017. Previous roles include Senior Journalist at the National Business Review from February 2020 to May 2024, Business Editor at The Spinoff, and Senior Copywriter at Callaghan Innovation, among others. Maria's extensive journalism experience spans over a decade, including positions at Fairfax Media in various editorial capacities. Maria holds a Bachelor of Arts in English literature and art history from the University of Canterbury.
