Vanessa Luzardo Gonzalez has extensive experience in data science, analytics, and innovation. Vanessa Luzardo currently holds the position of Sr. Director of Data Science and Innovation at Businessolver since October 2022.
Prior to their current role, Vanessa worked at Transamerica from April 2020 to September 2022. During their time at Transamerica, they held two different roles. First, they served as Sr. Director of Data and Analytics from March 2021 to October 2022. In this role, they provided leadership and strategic direction to the Data Science and Data Governance teams, focusing on developing and deploying data and advanced analytics solutions. Vanessa Luzardo also worked on machine learning and AI techniques to address business opportunities and challenges. Vanessa was responsible for promoting the maturation of the data governance framework and establishing frameworks for prototyping new solutions.
Before becoming the Sr. Director of Data and Analytics, Vanessa was an Analytics Engagement Manager at Transamerica from April 2020 to February 2021. In this role, they bridged the gap between business leaders and technology/analytics. Vanessa Luzardo gathered insights and applied data visualization, statistical analysis, machine learning, and process automation to solve business problems. Vanessa also served as an ambassador within the organization to increase awareness, build culture, and generate opportunities.
Prior to Transamerica, Vanessa worked at Regions Bank as a VP & Data Products Partner from February 2019 to April 2020. In this role, they defined and oversaw the development of internal products and solutions that leveraged Big Data and advanced analytics to increase profitability and efficiency for the Wealth Management Business Unit in the Bank. Vanessa Luzardo managed the entire lifecycle of these internal data products.
Vanessa's earlier work experience includes roles at Colorado School of Mines and V & Y Construction, Inc. At Colorado School of Mines, they held various positions from 2011 to 2019, including Data Reporting & Analytics Lead, Administrator and Data Analytics Lead, and Data Analyst. Vanessa Luzardo was responsible for data modeling, visualization, reporting, and analysis, as well as managing projects and processes. Vanessa also worked as a Program Manager, focusing on project management, finance, accounting, and process development.
Before their time at Colorado School of Mines, Vanessa worked at V & Y Construction, Inc. as the Secretary Treasurer and Financial Manager from 1999 to 2012. In this role, they played a critical role in project management, construction, and marketing of single-family homes. Vanessa Luzardo was also responsible for managing administrative activities for the company.
Vanessa's career journey started with their own private practice, where they gained experience in nutrition, construction, and entrepreneurship from 1994 to 1999.
Vanessa Luzardo Gonzalez has an extensive education history. Vanessa Luzardo holds a Master's Degree in Data Science from Regis University, where they focused on Computer Science. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science degree in Business Administration and Economics from Universidad Anáhuac. Their undergraduate studies were completed at Universidad Iberoamericana, Ciudad de México, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Food Science.
In addition to their academic degrees, Vanessa has also obtained various certifications. Vanessa Luzardo is a Tableau Desktop Specialist, certified by Tableau Software in June 2020. Vanessa Luzardo also holds a Business Intelligence Professional Certificate from Villanova University, which they earned in July 2015. In January 2015, Vanessa obtained the IBM Cognos Report Studio: Author Professional Reports Fundamentals certification from IBM.
Furthermore, Vanessa has obtained professional licenses from the Mexican National Educational Bureau in both Business Administration and Economics, and Nutrition and Food Science. Vanessa Luzardo received the license in Business Administration and Economics in May 2000 and the license in Nutrition and Food Science in November 1994.
