Ashley N. Wicks

Ashley N. Wicks, JD, CPA, LL.M., is an experienced attorney at Butler Snow LLP since August 2012, specializing in community development entities, tax credit transactions, and commercial lending. Wicks has led over $500 million in federal and state new markets tax credit transactions and acted as counsel in various financing roles, including for mass transit agencies and colleges, particularly HBCUs. Prior experience includes positions at Jones Walker LLP and Watkins Ludlam Winter & Stennis, P.A., focusing on tax, corporate finance, and NMTC transactions. Wicks began a legal career as a law clerk at Hinds County Circuit Court and previously operated a solo practice. Wicks holds advanced degrees in taxation, law, and accounting from The University of Alabama and Tulane University Law School, along with a BBA from Jackson State University.
