Mary Sakuma is a seasoned educational leader with extensive experience in various administrative roles within the California school system. Currently serving as the Butte County Superintendent of Schools since August 2014, Mary has previously held positions such as Deputy Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources in the same district. Prior experience includes serving as the Superintendent of Schools at Durham Unified School District and Junction Elementary School District, as well as the Principal at Antelope Elementary School District. Mary holds a Master's degree in Education from Simpson University and two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Drama and Dramatics/Theatre Arts from the University of California, Berkeley.
