Martijn van Nek

Martijn van Nek is an experienced social worker and organizational leader, currently serving as the Chairman of the Works Council at Buurtteamorganisatie Sociaal Utrecht since September 2021. With a longstanding commitment to community care, Martijn has worked as a social worker in various capacities, including with Stichting Buurtteamorganisatie Utrecht since January 2015, specializing in providing accessible general social care to residents of Utrecht. Previous roles include providing support to individuals with addiction issues at Stichting De Tussenvoorziening, leading group dynamics in drug rehabilitation at Victas, and guiding homeless youth at Stichting Pension Singelzicht. Martijn began a career in leadership within the hospitality sector as a manager at Debuut BV’s restaurant Popocatepetl. Martijn holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Services from HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht, complemented by training as a Social Pedagogical Worker from ROC Midden Nederland.
