Simon Ward

Simon Ward has extensive work experience in the rail industry. Simon is currently employed as the Technical Director for Rail Systems and QHSE Compliance at BWB Consulting Ltd, a position they started in October 2022. Prior to this, Simon was the Head of Signal Engineering at Linbrooke Services Ltd from July 2022 to October 2022. From September 2019 to July 2022, they worked at BWB Consulting Ltd as the Technical Manager for Rail Signalling. Simon also has a long history with Network Rail, where they held various roles including Design Manager, Senior Project Engineer, Project Engineer, and Various Maintenance Roles from 2004 to 2019. Simon began their career in the rail industry as a Fast Track Trainee at Jarvis Rail in April 2001 and worked there until April 2004.

Simon Ward began their education in 2008 at Sheffield Hallam University, where they pursued a Foundation Degree in Engineering with a focus on Railway Engineering. Simon completed this degree in 2011. Following this, Simon continued their education at Sheffield Hallam University and obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Railway Engineering in 2014.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Simon has achieved several certifications. Simon became an Incorporated Engineer in June 2015 through the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). In October 2019, Simon obtained the certification of Engineering Manager (Design) from the Institution of Railway Signal Engineers. Most recently, in August 2021, they achieved the title of Chartered Engineer from the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).
