Abbey J. Donahue

Abbey J. Donahue, PE, is an accomplished engineer with extensive experience in the nuclear engineering sector. Currently serving as the Chief Engineer for BWXT Advanced Nuclear Reactor at BWX Technologies, Inc., Abbey leads a multi-disciplinary team focused on the development of a transportable microreactor and an advanced core design using TRISO fuel. Previous roles include Fellow at the Atlantic Council, Engineering Manager at SHINE Medical Technologies, where Abbey oversaw the design and construction of an NRC-licensed medical isotope production facility, and Project Engineer at Orano (AREVA), contributing to criticality and shielding analyses and core design through the Voyager Program. Abbey's engineering career began at Dominion, focusing on core design and reactor engineering. Education includes a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Nuclear Engineering from Purdue University and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, respectively.
