Ruben Vermaak

Ruben Vermaak has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Ruben began their career at EFR as a Project Manager for the Activity Committee and later served as Vice Chairman of the High Five Committee. Ruben then pursued a Bachelor Elective/International Research Project at the Erasmus School of Economics/Stellenbosch University, where they focused on macroeconomics in a globalized South Africa. Ruben also held roles as Chairman of the Marketing Committee at RSM STAR and Chairman of Cala Banys (Chapter of Fraternity R.S.V. Sanctus Laurentius).

Following their time in student organizations, Ruben joined Unilever as a Student Campus Assistant, responsible for coordinating contacts between Unilever and career events at Erasmus University. Ruben then joined KLM as a Management Trainee IT (MPI).

Ruben's most recent and extensive work experience has been at Bynder, where they held multiple roles. Ruben started as an Onboarding Manager and was later promoted to Head of Learning & Development. In this role, Ruben implemented various programs and initiatives, such as the Bynder Bootcamp and Leadership Academy. Ruben also implemented employee engagement surveys, personality assessments, and introduced unlimited vacation days and remote week. Ruben's final role at Bynder was Global Director of People Development, where they were responsible for organizational development, personal development, leadership development, performance management strategy, employee engagement, onboarding, and employee wellbeing, among other responsibilities.

Throughout their career, Ruben has demonstrated their capabilities in people development and creating engaging work environments.

Ruben Vermaak obtained their Graduate Certificate in Organizational Behavior from Harvard Extension School in the years 2019 to 2021. Prior to that, they completed their Master's degree in Marketing Management at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University from 2009 to 2011. Ruben also holds a Bachelor's degree in International Business Administration from the same university, earned during the period of 2004 to 2011. Additionally, Ruben Vermaak attended Athens University of Economics and Business in 2010 for Master Electives in Marketing. Before their university education, they attended Marnix Gymnasium Rotterdam from 1998 to 2004, specializing in E&M Profile, Latin, and Informatics. The information about their education prior to Marnix Gymnasium Rotterdam is unknown. Notably, Ruben Vermaak has obtained several certifications throughout their career, including Data Visualisation & Storytelling from Growth Tribe in September 2022, ACT Individual from my HBM center in September 2018, and Digital Asset Management Certification Program from Bynder in May 2018, among others.
