David Wendell Tatum has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. David Wendell started their career as an Estimator Intern at Porter International Construction in 2009, where they gained experience in bid requests, submittals, and assisting with day-to-day operations. David Wendell also specialized in foundation and concrete take-offs while managing drawing documents and assisting in the estimating process.
In 2011, David joined Mass Electric Construction, a subsidiary of Kiewit, as an Estimator/Engineer/Scheduler. In this role, they managed and maintained project schedules, communicated scheduling issues with stakeholders, and performed schedule impact analysis for contractor charge orders.
David then moved on to Structure Tone Southwest in 2015, where they served as an Assistant Project Manager. David Wendell was responsible for monitoring project cost, procurement, and schedule for various projects, including the American Airline Headquarters Trinity Complex, Santander Thanksgiving Tower, Stryker Communications, DCT Industrial, Santander North Richland Hills, Goldman Sachs, Goldman Sachs Digital Finance Call Center, and PennyMac.
In 2018, David joined The Burt Group, Inc. as a Project Manager, where they continued to oversee and manage projects until January 2020.
David's entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish their own business, Mini More Cakes by D. Tatum, in 2021. As the owner and founder, they specialize in creating custom cakes for any event.
Most recently, David joined Byrne Construction Services in 2020 as a Project Manager before being promoted to Senior Project Manager in April 2023. Details regarding the end dates of their roles at Byrne Construction Services and Mini More Cakes by D. Tatum are not provided.
David Wendell Tatum, MSCM, obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Architecture from Prairie View A&M University, where they studied from 2005 to 2009. At the same institution, they also pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Construction Science during that same period. Following their undergraduate studies, they attended the University of Houston from 2010 to 2013, where they earned a Master's of Science degree in Construction Management.
