Axel Derboven

Axel Derboven is a seasoned professional in payment operations with extensive experience across prominent companies. Currently serving as a Payment Operations Manager at ByteDance and TikTok since June 2025, Axel previously held significant roles at EBANX from April 2019 to June 2025, including Payment Operations Team Lead for the APAC region and Technical Account Manager. In these positions, Axel managed strategic relationships with APAC merchants, facilitated the integration of payment methods, and provided training on product offerings. Prior to this, Axel gained valuable communication experience as a Communication Officer at the Swiss Finance Council and roles in project assistance and communication support. Axel holds a Master of Science in International Finance from KU Leuven and dual Bachelor's degrees in Business Administration and Communication.
