Daniel Haimanot

Daniel Haimanot is an experienced engineering professional with a strong focus on privacy and security infrastructure. Currently serving as Engineering Lead for Privacy Security Infrastructure at TikTok since June 2020, Daniel is involved in significant initiatives such as Project Texas. Concurrently, Daniel holds the position of Senior Software Engineer at ByteDance, specializing in privacy and data security. Previous roles include Software Engineer at WeWork, where Daniel contributed to resource calendar and localization tracking technology, and positions at Infoblox, where backend development for DNS and IP management platforms was key. Daniel began a research career as a Graduate Research Student at the University of Oxford, developing machine-learning applications. With a Master of Science from the University of Oxford and a Bachelor of Applied Science from The University of British Columbia, Daniel possesses expertise in programming languages such as Python, and skills in data management and compliance frameworks including GDPR and COPPA.
