Selene Gao

Selene Gao is an experienced HR professional with a strong background in talent acquisition and organizational growth within the technology sector. Presently serving as the HR Lead for Foundation Model Research at ByteDance since December 2017, Selene is a founding member of the company's U.S. HR team. Previously, Selene held the position of Head of HR for Baidu, Inc. from March 2011 to April 2017, where the focus was on expanding Baidu's research and engineering initiatives in AI and other key technology areas in Silicon Valley and Seattle. Selene's career began with an HR-Recruiting role at Google in 2007, contributing to the international engineering recruitment efforts. Academically, Selene holds BA degrees in International Business from Fudan University and Shanghai University of Science and Technology.
