Tyler Cain

Tyler Cain is an experienced legal professional serving as Head of Privacy, Legal for APAC and Emerging Markets at ByteDance and TikTok since August 2019, focusing on privacy, data protection, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity across over 100 markets. Prior to this role, Tyler was the Chief Legal Officer and Senior Policy Adviser at CCP12 from November 2018 to July 2019, where leadership was provided on legal and policy matters for a global association of Central Counterparties. Additional experience includes serving as Deputy General Counsel at UnionPay International from June 2014 to October 2018 and as In-House Counsel at Citi for a brief period in early 2014. Earlier roles also include legal positions at Miami-Dade County and Darden. Educational qualifications include a Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law and a Certificate in Chinese Law from Tsinghua University.
