Marcos Reis

Marcos Reis has a diverse work experience in the field of information security and risk management. Marcos has held various senior roles in well-known financial institutions and technology companies.

Starting in 1995, Marcos worked as a Senior System Analyst at Poly IT Solutions, where they specialized in providing IT solutions and services to businesses. Marcos then joined EY in 2000 as a Risk Consultant, where they focused on information security consulting and external IT auditing for the banking and finance industry.

In 2004, Marcos joined Bank of America as an IT Risk Advisor, specializing in application systems and technology and information security controls. Marcos then moved to ABN AMRO Private Banking in 2006, where they continued their work as a Senior IT Risk Advisor, conducting risk assessments and reviewing technology and information security controls.

In 2009, Marcos joined Itaú Unibanco as a Senior IT Risk Advisor, planning and executing risk assessments for IT general controls and information security. Marcos later joined BTG Pactual in 2011, where they held various roles, including Associate Director for IT and Cybersecurity Audit and Internal Audit Director for Chile, Peru, Colombia, and Mexico. In these roles, they were responsible for operational risk oversight, risk identification, and assessment, as well as establishing risk appetites and mitigation strategies.

In 2019, Marcos became the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Itaú Chile, where they developed and implemented the cybersecurity and fraud prevention program and translated regulatory and compliance requirements into operational procedures.

Currently, Marcos is the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at C-Patex, where they are responsible for advising on cybersecurity and fraud prevention, risk assessment, translating regulatory requirements, and refining the go-to-market strategy for the company's ecosystem.

Marcos Reis completed their Bachelor's degree in Administration from Faculdades Associadas de São Paulo, from 1999 to 2003. Marcos then pursued an MBA in Mercado Financeiro from FACULDADE FIPECAFI - Fundação Instituto de Pesquisas Contábeis, Atuariais e Financeiras for the year 2010. Later in 2017, Marcos attended Harvard Business School, where they obtained a Master of Business Administration - MBA with a specialization in Cyber/Computer Forensics and Counterterrorism.

In addition to their formal education, Marcos Reis also completed a certification in Introduction to Quantum Computing from LinkedIn in June 2022.
