João Andrade

João Andrade has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering. João is currently working as a Software Engineer at C Teleport since December 2022. Prior to this, they worked at DSR Corporation as a Software Engineer from May 2022 to October 2022.

Before that, João worked at Microsoft from April 2020 to March 2022, where they held the position of Software Engineer 2. During their time at Microsoft, they were involved in maintaining and modernizing public-facing services, contributing to internal tools and libraries, and ensuring the safety and reliability of Skype with up-to-date technologies. João had a significant role in designing and implementing new features, contributing to the backend architecture and service redesign, and mitigating DDOS attacks. João also played a vital role in the creation and management of CI/CD pipelines, integration of YubiKey into development processes, improving services monitoring and metrics, writing tests, and performing 24-hour Oncall duties.

Prior to joining Microsoft, João worked as a Contract Full Stack Software Engineer at Skype and IC3 Microsoft organizations from May 2018 to March 2020. João was responsible for maintaining and modernizing public-facing services, implementing Skype's new web client infrastructure, and contributing to internal tools and libraries.

João's earlier experience includes working at Foxconn DRC as a Software Engineer from April 2017 to April 2018. João was part of the back-end team for a new generation energy management and monitoring system, where they implemented new features, conducted bug fixing and refactoring, implemented CI/CD pipelines, and wrote documentation.

Before that, João worked at Zettabox as a Software Developer from January 2016 to March 2017. At Zettabox, they contributed to the design and implementation of web APIs, maintenance of WCF REST APIs and Windows desktop application, integration of Microsoft Office 365, implementation of new payment gateway API, bug fixing, performance optimizations, and testing.

João started their career as an intern at Apond - Applications on Demand, where they worked as a Full Stack Developer from March 2015 to August 2015. João also gained internship experience as a PHP Developer at INSERTPAGE Informática from June 2013 to September 2013.

João Andrade obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Informatics Engineering from the Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto, where they studied from 2011 to 2015. João later pursued a Master's degree in Informatics Engineering at the same institute, which they will complete in 2024.
