Alastair Maxwell has extensive work experience, starting with their role as First Lieutenant in the British Army from 1984 to 1987. Alastair then worked at Kleinwort Benson, where they held various managerial positions from 1987 to 1998. From 1998 to 2010, they served as an Executive Director and later as a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley. Following that, they worked at Goldman Sachs as a Managing Director from 2010 to 2016. Throughout their career, they held the position of Chief Financial Officer at GasLog Ltd. from 2017 to 2020 and at Signifier Medical Technologies from 2020 to 2023. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Financial Officer at C2X, starting in 2023. Additionally, they are a Non Executive Director at Noble Corporation since 2022.
Alastair Maxwell attended the University of Oxford from 1981 to 1984, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Modern Languages. Alastair later attended the London Business School from 1988 to 1989, completing the Corporate Finance Evening Programme with a focus on Accounting and Finance.

C2X
C2X is a new company aiming to make a significant contribution to a fossil-free future by accelerating the availability of green methanol in large quantities. C2X will develop, own and operate green methanol production facilities in strategic locations, which will serve to de-fossilise the chemical and shipping sectors. The venture is majority owned by A.P. Moller Holding with A.P. Moller – Maersk as minority owner.
