Julie Baker is a seasoned advocate for the arts and creative industries, currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Californians For The Arts since September 2018. In this role, Julie focuses on state and federal policy development and campaigns aimed at enhancing public awareness of the arts' impact. As the Founder of Julie Baker Projects since September 2017, Julie emphasizes the importance of culture in community building and economic growth. Previously, Julie worked as the Executive Director of The Center for the Arts from June 2009 to September 2017, overseeing a non-profit performing arts venue with a $2.2 million budget. Julie also owned Julie Baker Fine Art, a contemporary art gallery, from November 2001 to July 2011, managing artist careers and collections. Julie's early career includes serving as Executive Producer at tristream from 1999 to 2001. Academic background includes two Bachelor's degrees in American Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and further studies at New York University.
