Managing Director, Head Of Real Assets Credit at CPP Investments

Geoffrey Souter's work experience begins in 1996 when they joined J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. There, they started as an Associate and eventually became a Vice President, leading a team responsible for JPMorgan's CMBS execution. Geoffrey gained experience in various aspects of finance, including portfolio management, origination, and client management.

In 2005, Souter moved to The Royal Bank of Scotland (formerly known as Greenwich Capital) as a Managing Director, where they led a group of real estate professionals during the financial crisis. Geoffrey strategically managed and liquidated a portfolio worth over $7 billion and played a role in expanding the firm's structured product offerings.

Souter's next move was to CPP Investments in 2010, where they joined as a Director before being promoted to Managing Director, Head of Private Real Estate Debt. Geoffrey built and led a team that invested over $5 billion in the first five years. In 2016, they took on the role of Managing Director, Head of Real Assets Credit, overseeing the global expansion of the business in line with CPP Investments' strategy.

Currently, Souter leads a 27-person team located in Toronto, London, and New York, responsible for managing a sustainable global portfolio of real estate, energy, and infrastructure credit investments.

Geoffrey Souter holds a Master of Science degree in Real Estate Development from Columbia University. Geoffrey also obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Honors Geography with a focus on Urban Development from Western University.
