Alexander Hollberg has held various positions throughout their work experience. Alexander started their career as a Trainee at DYWIDAG Saudi Arabia Co. Ltd. in 2009 and later worked as a Trainee at AP Architecture in 2011. Alexander then co-founded vonPappe in 2013. In 2012, they joined Bauhaus-Universität Weimar as a Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter and worked there until 2017. During this time, they also worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at ETH Zurich - Chair of Sustainable Construction from 2017 to 2019. In 2014, they co-founded CAALA, where they worked until 2019. Currently, they hold the position of Assistant Professor at Chalmers tekniska högskola since 2019. In 2023, they will become an Associate Professor at the same institution.
Alexander Hollberg pursued their education in the field of architecture and engineering. In 2005, they enrolled in the Technical University of Munich, where they completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Bauingenieurwesen in 2008. Following this, from 2009 to 2011, they attended Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Archineering. In 2010, they briefly studied at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, focusing on architecture. Subsequently, from 2013 to 2016, Alexander Hollberg pursued a Ph.D. (Doktor) in Architektur at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Furthermore, they acquired an additional certification named "DTCC - Digital Sustainable Built Environment" in November 2021 from Chalmers tekniska högskola.
