Kristin Klinglesmith, MPH, serves as the Assistant Behavioral Health Director at Cabarrus Health Alliance, where responsibilities include managing administrative duties, operations, and improving departmental procedures aimed at enhancing behavioral health initiatives. Previously, Kristin held the role of Substance Use Program Manager, focusing on substance use prevention and harm reduction, as well as supervising staff and ensuring grant compliance. Kristin also coordinated the Racial and Ethnic Approaches to Community Health (REACH) program, fostering partnerships to implement school gardens that promote healthy food consumption and physical activity. Earlier experience includes roles as an Emergency Preparedness Researcher and Intern at Carolinas Healthcare System, where Kristin engaged in disaster planning and volunteer coordination. Educational qualifications consist of a Master of Science in Public Health and a Graduate Certificate in Emergency/Disaster Management from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, alongside a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and Social Control from Appalachian State University.
Cabarrus Health Alliance
The Cabarrus Health Alliance (CHA), the health department serving Cabarrus County, brings nationally recognized leadership and expertise in public health to the the NC Research Campus. CHA is one of the only nationally certified public health departments in the country. CHA provides many free to low-cost classes and programs for the residents of Cabarrus County on subjects such as healthy cooking, yoga, nutrition education and disease management. Classes and programs are offered at the CHA headquarters in Kannapolis and throughout Cabarrus County in neighborhood centers, churches and other facilities.
