Sally Stone has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Sally began their career as a Research Assistant in Marine Sciences at the University of Wales, Swansea in 1984. Following that, they worked as a Senior Research Associate in Environmental Sciences at the University of East Anglia until 1990.
After their academic roles, Sally joined Elsevier Science in 1990 and held various positions including Senior Editor, Market Development Manager, and Senior Publishing Editor in the Ocean Sciences and Earth & Environmental Sciences fields. During their time at Elsevier Science, they played a key role in the development of electronic journals and the ScienceDirect platform.
In 2000, Sally joined Elsevier BV and served as a Senior Account Manager/General Manager. Sally was tasked with establishing the Research Solutions Sales office in Sydney and implementing the ScienceDirect journals database. Sally's success led their to recruit and train a National Sales Manager and develop the customer service team based in Singapore.

Most recently, Sally Stone has been working at CABI since 2019. Sally initially held the position of Head of Business Development APAC and later transitioned to the role of Head of Strategic Partnerships, Asia Pacific in June 2022.
