Jimmy Lafontaine Rivera

Jimmy is a Co-Founder and Cachengo’s Chief Scientist. He was a key member of Facebook’s Infrastructure Organization where he developed innovative tools to detect and stop automated attacks against user information on the platform. Using his expertise in statistics, he discovered a way to train supervised and unsupervised models that could learn to detect non-human interactions with the site.

Jimmy received his PhD in Chemical Engineering from UCLA while working on models of bacterial metabolism. He has a passion for engineering simple solutions to some of the Internet’s biggest problems.
