Derek Pinkham, PMP, CMP, DES, has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. Derek currently works as a Project Manager at Cadmium, starting in September 2021. Prior to this, Derek had a long tenure at the Virginia Military Institute, where they served as a Conference Project Manager from July 2009 to September 2021. In this role, they were responsible for planning and implementing conferences, managing registration and email marketing, and maintaining communication with attendees and exhibitors.

Derek also holds the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification from the Convention Industry Council, which they obtained in May 2016. Recently, Derek acquired the Digital Event Strategist (DES) certification from PCMA in September 2022.
